About The Grenada Commission on Cannabis Legalization and Regulation (GCCLR)

The Grenada Cannabis Commission for Legalisation and Regulation was established by the Government of Grenada to help guide the country's approach to cannabis reform.

Overview

The Grenada Commission on Cannabis Legalization and Regulation (GCCLR) was established by the Cabinet of Grenada in October 2022. The Commission is tasked with conducting a rigorous enquiry into the social, economic, health, and legal issues surrounding cannabis use in the Caribbean and determining whether there should be a change in the current drug classification of cannabis, thereby making the drug more accessible for recreational, religious, research, and medical use.

Through research, public consultation and expert engagement, the Commission is examining the social, economic, health, agricultural, religious and legal considerations surrounding cannabis and helping to shape recommendations for a responsible legislative and regulatory framework.
